Many of us have kitkat based smartphones though the OS has become older and many latest OS is reigning. However, some of the kitkat based smartphone users face a problem. It is with their SD card. They can not set the storage to SD card in any app as well as in the settings. Actually, KitKat comes with restriction to write SD card. As a result, users can only read the SD card in kitkat but they can not get the write access to SD card.
Let's come to the point for which this article is. There is one solution to this unexpected problem. All you have to do is download an app named 'SD Fix'. You can download it from the play store or from here.
This app restores the permission to write SD card on kitkat 4.4. Your kitkat smartphone should be rooted in order to use the app. If you do not know what "root" is then I suggest you not to use this application. If you already know about rooting a device then you may proceed. However, you can unroot your device after performing the action.
So, let's get started.
First, install the app(SD Fix) and open it. SD fix will ask for root permission.a message will pop up asking for root permission, all you need to do is click on 'allow'.
then click on 'continue'.
Then the app will start working. You have to wait a little bit until a confirmation message pops up on the screen saying the process complete. When it's complete you can uninstall the app.
N.B: You can root your device using kingroot/king user or any other apps. But I suggest, only take this action if you have knowledge on rooting a device. Otherwise, don't do this. And root your device only for this SD Card issue. Don't do anything else with the rooting app.
Regards.
